Didn't see that "family guy". OK, heading off to Pro Care at the Apple Store.
Doh! turned out to be a SD card reader that I had plugged into the PCMCIA slot. Doh! It shouldn't have kept it from booting, but it was something that I could have worked around. Doh!
ok, I can't stop laughing -- been there, done that!
I remember my laptop refusing to boot if my iPod was connected to a USB port. Strange things sometimes happen.

And this morning I ran into the problem if iPod software not updating if too many other USB devices were attached. Weird!
