Ugh, just realized I cannot watch the new "Bionic Woman" - stupid frickin SHAKEY CAM. Guess I'll just have to listen to it instead.

Why do they keep doing this? It's the reason I had to give up watching Battlestar Galactica.... when the cinematography becomes a "character" rather than transparent. :(

believe me, you wouldn't want to watch the new bionic woman

As of the 3rd episode, it has a decent premise. But as long as I don't have to watch the screen (using it as a background sound while I read email), it seems to be ok.

You realise that you are missing out on the best stuff because of this, Randal...?!

I'm told I am, but if the producer has decided to use annoying visuals, then I really need to look elsewhere, literally.

I dunno. I really like it. Gives the show a nitty-gritty, down-to-earth feel. It's perfect on Firefly. Shame you can't stand it.......

As I said, if it's noticable, it doesn't belong. Cinematography should help immerse me, not become a character of its own.

Just because it worked on a few music videos and the fight scenes in Gladiator.....everyone thinks it's needed everywhere.

I actually think it immerses me more. Firefly is the best cinematography I have ever seen. Sadly it doesn't seem to work for everyone....

There's a difference between hand held and shaky cam. Firefly was mostly hand held, and very intrusive (in a good way). Shaky cam, like that used in The Bourne Supremacy for example, just annoys me, and creates motion sickness

You're right. Firefly is hand-held, lens flares and intentional mis-framing. I love it! ;)

Well, Bionic Woman needs to go on one or two more missions before I tell my TiVo to take a rest. But I definitely won't be watching it directly, except perhaps in a small window via SlingPlayer. :)

love the new bionic woman--- might be a little bias growing up watching it. must admit michelle ryan doesn't have much character as jamie sommers though. the shaky cam is not as annoying as something like 21 Jump Street (if anyone can remember that one) and Bourne Supremacy. Actually haven't really been bothered with it and not noticed it much -- have to pay attention more.
